This community planning project is centered on listening to the residents of the Independence Plaza and Forgotten Homes neighborhoods and working together to build a stronger, safer, and more connected community. Funded by a Planning Sustainable Places grant from the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), the City of Kansas City, along with a diverse team of planners and designers, will work with local residents, businesses, and service providers to create an actionable plan. The Plan will focus on key priorities such as affordable housing, safer streets, improved parks and green spaces, and expanded opportunities for local economic development.
