Project Introduction
Metro Transit is developing a transit wayfinding strategy within downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul. The goal of this work is to create a clear, intuitive, and accessible wayfinding system for the various transit routes and stations to help riders better navigate the downtown areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
What is "wayfinding"? In the context of a downtown transit system, "wayfinding" refers to the coordinated use of signage, maps, and digital tools that help people easily navigate between transit stops, destinations, and services. Effective wayfinding creates a clear, intuitive experience that reduces confusion and supports seamless movement through the transit system.
How would you like to Participate?
- Have 5 minutes? Add two pins to the map below.
- Have 10 minutes? Take the survey below.
- Have a little more time? Share your email address to express interest in a focus group and hear about other ways to stay involved. Focus group space is limited, and not all interested participants will be selected.
We are here to ask you: In the downtown areas, what helps make transit wayfinding easy, and what makes it difficult?
There are two maps below - one on each tab. One map is for downtown Minneapolis, and the other map is for downtown St. Paul.
Use the "Add Comment" icons on the maps to contribute your thoughts on what works well and what doesn't for wayfinding between transit lines and stops/stations that you are familiar with. Your input is critical, valuable, and will lead to successful outcomes of this project!
